[sold out] Bread Making Workshop - Gusto Bread - August 22, 2021

Experience a day of baking at Gusto Bread with baker/owner Arturo Enciso.  Great for beginners and experienced home bakers alike.

Sunday, August 22nd from 3-6:30pm

In this workshop, we will make the rustic sourdough bread recipe that was the basis of Gusto Bread’s humble beginnings. We will also cover topics such as sourdough starter maintenance, selecting flours, loaf scoring and stencil advice, and home oven tips and tricks. Plus, there will be time for Q&A for any baking questions you may have!

Walk away with a freshly baked loaf of bread + dough prepared in class to bake at home! We will also provide a recipe booklet, Gusto’s own sourdough starter, a reusable bread basket, 1kilo of bread flour, AND the hands-on knowledge to continue baking at home! 

Light meal will be provided. Get to know your classmates a little better during a short mid-class break: We will have a delicious spread of veggies, cheese, dips and fruit for enjoying some freshly baked bread together.

Please bring an apron, and a pen or pencil for writing notes in your recipe booklet. 

Workshop will be held at our bakery on Retro Row in Long Beach, CA. 

Class will be held indoors. Please attend only if you feel comfortable/safe being in close proximity with others. We will continue to have classes into the future if you would rather wait to participate (if you have concerns related to COVID-19).
